We’ve experienced ‘customised’ solutions which are ‘out of the box’ or ‘off the shelf’, often old and not relevant or bespoke to the customer’s needs. This often leads to failure to deliver a real solution, and the application of another ‘out of the box’ offering to rectify the failings of the first. In these circumstances, ‘consultancy’ may well be a vehicle to sell products rather than developing robust solutions.
